Our Statement of Faith
1. We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament and New Testament are the inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word of God. God’s Word is the final authority for faith and life.
John 16:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Thessalonians 2:13
2. We believe there is only one God, and He has chosen to reveal Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; John 14:16
3. We believe man was created in the image of God and the sin of Adam (the first man) marred that image, creating an eternal divide between God and man. Every person is born in sin.
4. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Who always was, who is, and who is to come.
5. We believe we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit, convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts us as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. It is not through works that we are saved, but through grace.
6. We believe the only way a person can have a true, forgiven relationship with God is through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus became man without ceasing to be God. Our right standing with God is made sure because of His literal, physical resurrection.
John 1:1, 14; 20:28-29; Philippians 2:6-11; Isaiah 9:6; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:34-35; Isaiah 7:14
7. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8. We believe in in His virgin birth
9. We believe in His sinless life,
2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; 7:26-27; 1 John 3:5; 1 Peter 2:22
10.His miracles,
Matthew 4:23; Luke 6:17-19; John 3:2
11.His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood.
Colossians 1:14, 20; Romans 5:8-9; Ephesians 1:7
12. We believe in His bodily resurrection,
1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Luke 24:4-7; 36-48; Revelation 1:17-18
13. His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
Acts 2:33, 5:30-31; 1 Peter 3:22
14. We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead.
Acts 1:11; Philippians 2:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; John 14:1-3
15. We believe God offers eternal life as a free gift and that it must be received by faith alone through God’s grace alone. The life that comes from this gift is a permanent possession of the one receiving it.
Romans 3:24-25; John 3:3-7; 1 John 5:11-13; Ephesians 2:1-16; Revelation 5:9; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 6:11
16. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4; 10:44-46; 1 Corinthians 12, 14
17. We believe the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of believers on mission to enlarge God’s kingdom. The local church is autonomous, free of any external authority of control.
Acts 2:41-47; 16:4-5; Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; John 17:11, 21-23; Romans 12:4-5; Ephesians 4:11-16
